Wednesday update

Jocelyn was a no-show, after two “on my way” texts.

Julia worked with me on books for a while, then concentrated on the “cats bathroom”. She emptied everything stored in the tub even though I had said don’t bother with that, then scrubbed everything forever. Very long and tiring, and she ended up not taking stuff downstairs. Still I am glad of the improvement.

Thursday morning as I write this I am going out later to sign papers at the bank for the annuity. Then will pick up shirts. Still, treating it as ALMOST a “day off” since Friday won’t really be.

Anxiety, always

Now I’ve got two people helping me, and both are coming today. This should reduce my stress (and probably will, in the long run) but at any moment just ramps up anxiety,

Amazon Locker offline,

I had an item delivered to the Amazon Locker, but wasn’t able to pick it up as the user screen was showing a Linux console preboot prompt instead of the usual customer interface. That was midweek, same thing when I returned today (Sunday).

It was only moderately hard to get thru the customer help options to someone who understood the problem. So I get a refund, and reordered the item.

A couple years ago, when faced with a similar problem, I called the posted phone number while standing there, and it did eventually work as the person I reached was able to remotely reboot it. And then I put in my code and retrieved my purchase. But I didn’t feel like standing there that long, this time.

npr.org/puzzle

I knew there might be a semi-conscious reason I tuned the radio in this room to WBEZ (local NPR). Sunday mornings I like to listen to the Puzzle feature, which is on at 9:40, not a time I would otherwise note.
